SPICE UP YOUR PRAYER WITH FASTING

 Bible Verse

Ezra  8:23

So we fasted and besought our God for this: and he was intreated of us.

Praying, Fasting and giving should be normal part of a believers life. Jesus speaking in (Matthew 6:2,5,16) when you give, pray, and fast. That means these should be a norm for us, Jesus expects these three to be part of our normal practice . Fasting gives us more time to pray because, our fasting will be tantamount to hunger strike, if we don't pray. Fasting also demonstrates our seriousness before God.

Let's see the benefits of fasting according Isaiah 58:8-11

-Breaking fourth of light, God will make plain what is hidden in the dark, the eyes of your understanding will be enlightened when you fast. (Ephesians 1:17-18),

-You enjoy divine health because you will be clothed with immortality (2nd Corinthians 5:2-4)

-Fasting weakens the flesh, so if there's a besetting sin that you are struggling with, when you fast, the glory of the Lord will overshadow you with his righteousness (2nd Corinthians 5:21)

-You enjoy speedy answer from heaven because your spirit, soul and body is focused on God without distraction (Matthew 6:22)

-You enjoy divine direction and as guidance because you are spiritually sensitive,  and as a result you enjoy divine provision and abundance because secret things will be revealed to you (Isaiah 45:3)

-You become a fountain and channel of Blessing to other people (Genesis 12:2)

Therefore I urge you to make fasting a norm, you can fast at least once a week to humble yourself before the Lord and also as an act of service and worship to God. (One day as these men were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Dedicate Barnabas and Saul for the special work to which I have called them.”Acts 13:2)
