Prayer to overcome Bad Habits

Bible verse 

Titus  2:12

Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

Father, thank you for the gift the Holy Spirit who lives in me. I am a holy temple, my body is the place where I meet with You. Lord, teach me how to care for myself physically, mentally and emotionally, so I will not be consumed by harmful addictions or thought processes. Remove from me any desire to participate in food addictions or substance abuse or attitudes and habits that doesn't glorify you . Bring Your shield around me and keep me pure in body, soul and spirit. Keep me alert and aware to the ways the enemy tries to sneak impurities into my life. Hold me free of pornography of any kind, sexual immorality, orgies, or the like.

Purify my mind, Father. Do not let me fall into habitual and worldly ways of thinking that lead to jealousy, anger, witchcraft, idolatry, or dissensions. I come against any tendencies to gratify the flesh or seek self-satisfaction (Galatians 5:19-20). Do not let me be mastered by sinful desires. Instead, establish in me a clean heart with pure motives matched with the strength to stand against the enemy’s temptations.

In Christ I am more than a conqueror; I am victorious! In His strength I can overcome all things (Philippians 4:13). Lord, help me stay free of any willful sin. Do not let me be ruled by the flesh (Psalm 19:13). Surround me with Your mighty protection. Lift me in Your mercy when I stumble and carry me when I am weak. Convict me to persevere in what I know is pleasing to You. Walk with me and remind me to be careful how I live – not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity (Ephesians 5:15). Give me aid against the enemy. Trample down my tempter and accuser and give me victory (Psalm 108:12-13) Restore to me the land that has been taken and all that I lost due to this addiction (Name the thing your struggling with) Either laziness, procrastination, Pornography, gossip, smoking, reckless spending etc. In Jesus’ name, Amen
