He's always Faithful
Bible verse
John 16:33
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
When the famous Nollyhood actress Ada Ameh died early this week , almost everybody became a counselor, saying take care of your mental health, talk to people, etc to avoid depression. As if it's something that one can just decide to do like drinking a cup of water. Depression is from the devil. It stems from a heart that has lost total Trust in God and have lost hope. Therapy is good to an extent but my brethren we shouldn't deceive ourselves. Lasting joy and peace can only be found in God. Only he have the answer to the questions of life, battles of life and challenges of life. It's not a mere admonition to say don't put your trust in your money or people. All will fail and they are not sure sources of dependence. (Psalms 33:17 An horse is a vain thing for safety: neither shall he deliver any by his great strength.) The horse symbolizes all that you ride on, your source of confidence and dependance.
Also, (Jeremiah 17:5 Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.) They too are looking up to God or someone. I have lost so many dear ones, and I know how painful it is. But the scripture should always be the compass of our lives. We shouldn't put people in the same position as God. Only God should be ultimate and someone we can't live or do without. That's why God will always remove whoever or whatever will stand in the way of your walk with him. God wants us to trust him completely. This life of yours is given by him. If we only this will always resonate in our minds, we will worry less about life's circumstances and place people and things below God. There's a quote I memorized since secondary school by Reinhold Nierburh, it's a very popular one and it has always helped me. "Father give me the courage to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference". There are things that only time and God Can change. When we are in God's will, we will trust his judgment because his will is always greater than our wishes, goals, desires and ambition..
Hearing the stories of sudden death of people especially young people dying of high blood pressure, suicide or changing religion saddens me. I know how difficult life is but God said we should trust him completely. And we can only trust someone we are intimate with and knows all that's in the heart. When we feed on the word of God and spend quality time on meditation and prayer, we will always hear that still small voice or the inner witness that gives divine direction. He is Jehovah EL-ROI the God Who Sees Me”. The One who see you in your distress, in your joy, in your frustrations. And is He is Jehovah SHAMMAH, always and forever with you. Whatever happens, always know that there’s Someone whose eyes are always on you.
Prayer
Father, my heart is weary. There are many things I do not understand. This world is taking a toll on my mind, will, emotions and some days even my hope. And Lord your Word says You know and understand all things. You give strength to the weary and power to the weak (Isaiah 40:29-31). You say You are trustworthy and those who put their hope in You will be strengthened and be made new in heart, mind and soul. Father, teach me of Your faithfulness. I long to reside in Your peace and rest all the days of my life. Let me know Your nearness. Do not let me slip into the pits of hopelessness and despair. I cry out to You and ask that You help me trust You more; help me believe. Increase my faith father (Luke 17:5). I know You hear from heaven and that You save Your anointed ones; the ones You call Your children (Psalm 28:6-9). With Your powerful love and Your saving right hand, reach me and pull me from any hopelessness and unbelief. Lord, turn Your ear toward me and hear my prayer. I proclaim that You are my strength both now and all the rest of my days. You are my shield, Rock, fortress and salvation. I choose to set You as the one I trust. You are the power of my spirit and the hope of my soul. Because You are at my right hand, I will not be shaken (Psalm 16:8) and the enemy has no grip on me. I focus only on you my in Jesus name. Amen 👏
